It was much better than the reviews that I'd read about the Huntley
This was our 3rd time staying at the Huntley, each for a week, over the last 24 years. We joined our ski club and needed a dog friendly room, as we were staying out West to ski for the season with our standard poodle. I read the reviews prior and was wondering about the unhappy reviews, as we'd always stayed there and it was pleasant. When I called to confirm, our reservation was in place (from the ski club travel vendor). They gave us a remodeled room, 1st floor, end of the hallway , close to the exit. The room was very clean (much cleaner than the VRBO we'd rented for two months in Utah), dog bed provided was wonderful (and clean), staff was very welcoming and to my surprise, our girl was allowed everywhere, including the meeting room our club used, the lobby and fireplace areas and all the Big Sky coffee shops, bars, retail, etc. We did not take her into any restaurants or to the breakfast buffet. To my continued dismay, poop was everywhere, in the snow, under the snow, all over any melted grassy areas, despite poop bag stations located at every door entry and exit, as well as the building at the resort. No wonder most places don't want to offer dog friendly accommodations. If you travel with a dog, even if you don't pick up after it at your own place, do the right thing, bend over, pick it up and put in the trash. If you can't do that 2x's a day, DON'T BRING YOUR DOG.
