Great for dog owners
Stayed here with our two 64 lb labradoodles. The room was nice, the dog walk area was convenient and well lit, breakfast was good. I'd highly recommend this hotel to pet owners.
Perfect!
We were on the road and decided to stop overnight. La Quinta was on our petswelcome.com route. We called, we were less than an hour away. No problem. They were so nice, so efficient, and the accommodations were perfect for our two Great Pyrenees and we two humans.
Super Nice Staff Both to People and Animals
We stayed here for the weekend for my mother-in-law's funeral. We had stayed in the La Quinta in Macon (Eisenhower Parkway) several years ago and decided to try one again. The hotel is neat, clean, and despite having canine guests, quiet. The staff was super-friendly, especially the desk clerk when we checked in Friday, April 16, and the other desk clerk when we checked out Sunday, April 18. One of the cleaning staff members held the room door for me when I was taking the luggage cart out on the 18th, which was nice. My husband was offered a free beverage because he is a veteran. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. There are eggs and sausages, a waffle maker, a pancake maker, four kinds of juice, a toaster and several kinds of bread, bagels, muffins, and pastries, oatmeal and grits (packaged), several fruit choices, 2% milk in a dispenser, also skim milk, butter, margarine, cream cheese, and even cheese slices (which husband really appreciated) in a fridge. Hot coffee and tea were available. At the time we went masks were required, and people were doing well social distancing. Our complaints are mostly minor. The shower head was terrific, but the tubs need new non skid. The light bulbs seem to either be CFLs or daylight LED bulbs, which give that odd, disorienting greenish light. Please invest in warm white LEDs, please. (Home Depot has a "bright white" bulb which is brighter than warm whites for the overheads but doesn't give that greenish light.) Sorry, the pillows were terrible. It was as if they had just rolled up stiff cloth and stuffed them in pillowcases. Can we suggest a firm but soft foam like a bamboo pillow? Also, have some feather pillows on hand for those who ask. (We love Staybridge Suites because they have feather pillows by request.) Also, the "blackout curtains" are totally inadequate. La Quinta's parking lot is very brightly lit to deter thieves and provide maximum identification for the security cameras, which makes you feel safe out there when you come in late or have to take your dog out. It is like being out in the sun. And the white blackout curtains, while thick, do nothing to keep that light out. There is a big glow around the windows all night long, and since the beds are next to the windows, you can see the problem. But I would still recommend this place. Maybe take a eye mask. Would have been totally perfect with a darker room, a grippy tub, and warm white light bulbs.
Our Go-To Stopover
We have two very large Great Pyrenese and have stayed in a few different hotels in our travels. This is our second stay at this La Quinta because it is by far the best suited to all of our needs and the best value. We’re snowbirds and will be staying here every year.
