Enjoyed the hospitality provided by the staff. Chloe did an excellent job in helping me settle in with my injury issues. Every time I come to Petersburg, I plan to stay at Candlewood.

Had we known the property was under renovation we never would have stayed here. First floor is a dusty mess, with building supplies everywhere. We were awakened early in the morning by sawing and banging from directly above our room-- just what you don't want after a long drive and another long day ahead. Honestly I am shocked that this property is accepting reservations and charging full price!

booked this hotel through Expedia, which showed an 8.6 rating, but after staying here, I discovered that the more accurate rating is closer to the 4.1 I later saw online.
The issues started immediately. The first night, the TV didn’t work at all, and the bathtub was taped up inside—something the staff was already aware of but had not disclosed before my stay. As we were packing to leave, we spotted a roach in the room. I took pictures and brought them to the front desk. The receptionist’s response was shockingly casual—she acknowledged knowing about the bathtub situation and dismissed the roach by saying she “only saw one” in the picture, as if that was acceptable.
