Our Cheshire stay
We had a great time during our stay at The Cheshire. The hotel is nice and historical. However, what made our stay great was the staff. From checking in, to the guest room attendants, everyone was willing to help and go above and beyond. A special thank you to “Red” that made our stay fun, listening to his stories in the morning getting our day off to a good start. Thank you all to the Cheshire team!

Once again we stay at our favorite Inn locally. All was perfect!
Awesome facility
Convenient, clean, friendly, Fox and Hounds a classic, staying there for 30 years and look forward to 30 more.
It is very quaint and historic and enjoyable.
Nice room, comfortable bed, good location for the Clayton/UCity/Zoo area, accommodating staff and great breakfast.
A surprising hidden gem.
From the berries and scrambled egg breakfast to the fresh fruit bowls to the jigsaw puzzles and chess set … unexpected and very appreciated! Thanks….

I have stayed in the Cheshire many times over the years. The staff is always courteous and professional, as well as helpful whenever special assistance is needed. It is a great value for the price and I always enjoy staying there.
It’s a themed hotel.
It’s a British/ English themed hotel, but it’s very old and needs updating. Our leather headboard had numerous spits where the faux leather was scratched off. The bathroom woodwork and door needed cleaned and painted. The mattress, well that was the worst, butt hole from just being old I guess, would not stay there again for $ 300 per night.

Disappointed. Stayed on a road trip from Texas to Illinois. Pool played a big part in choosing the property but was unavailable during our one night stay because they were working on the roof. Would have been nice if they offered a discounted rate because of that. Breakfast was not “English style”, just a buffet. Bathroom in room was smelly.
The adjacent bar/restaurant and tavern in the hotel were enjoyable.

Tracy and Roxie were very helpful. Our first room was not cool enough. The air didn’t seem to work well. They helped us to change rooms on the same floor. Perfect!
