Overall totally fine for the overnight we spent. The bed was nice and sheets/bedding were clean. Can tell it is an old place with a facelift. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good value for the low price.

Nice new clean room at a good price. The only downside was that there was no regular coffee packets in the room and no coffee in the lobby! Very disappointing to this caffeine addict. However, I will stay here again.

The floors were very dirty that my toddler's hands and feet got so black after crawling a few minutes. The bathroom sink was so badly clogged that uponnthe first hand wash it got filled up and stayed clogged all night and didnt go down until we left the next morning and we had to wash our hands and kids milk bottles and plates and bum and everything in the bath tub which was very uncomfortable. I reported it right away upon coming to the room and all the staff did was giving me a plunger and a disinfectant to clean the mess but even the plunger didnt fix the issue at all and just made a lot of splash in the bathroom floor and made everything more gross. Also lots of mosquitos and spiders and insects inside and outside the property.

The price I was charged on my card is NOT the price I was given on Hotels.com. I called to inquire about the price difference and was told that I would get the refund of the difference, that did not happen. The front desk was very polite upon check in. The lobby was very clean and appeared to be newer. The room itself was so clean and seemed remodeled, except for the bathtub that was gross and leaky...we chose not to use it as it looked like rust in the bottom as well. The outside was definitely lacking. They house long term residents on site and it shows. Lots of dog activity and barking. People sleeping on benches outside. the sidewalks were quite gross and the door to the room seemed unsafe and not secure.

The rooms are nice but there are no ice machines

The first floor of the property is all hotel rooms, the second floor is all long-term rental apartments. The flooring of both levels is engineered wood, not carpet. Being on the first floor, you can hear every footstep in the apartment above you...every footstep, every dropped item, every chair dragged across the floor. If you have a nightowl living above you, good luck getting sleep. The door to the hotel room doesn't shut tightly...there's a gap all the way around. If your room is on the 'B' side, facing the freeway, there's a significant level of vehicle noise coming through that door gap. It is an odd combination of decent remodel and 'why did they leave it like that?' This was my second stay at this property. If I can find a reasonable cost alternative, I won't stay here again.

When we showed up at the varsity west property at 1130 there was no staff on sight just a note to call there Varsity North property. So after speaking with the lady we were forced to drive like 5 miles thru town and take a room at a similar property. It was nice, clean, and spacious but it was a prertt big hassle and we wernt compensated for it. Q
