Great theme- Friendly person signed us in at sister property Breakfast was good

Great property. Kept true to midcentury vibes.

We had an okay stay. The heater didn’t work the first night but they fixed it. The staff was friendly. Don’t expect much of the continental breakfast.

The room was roomy and in a great corner location at the resort overlooking the mountains and salt water pool. Check-in was not available at the hotel at 4 pm. Had to go over to a sister property for check-in which took over 15 minutes with multiple people in line and 1 agent working (very nice guy). Parking was a little tricky and limited around the perimeters of the hotels. There is no bell service or room service. The room had a nice kitchen area stocked. Furniture was worn with scratches abound. The bathroom was very small compared to the room size. There was hair wrapped around the faucet, mold/mildew in the corner of the shower, dirty white towels, and bleached black face towels. The pool was not lit until later in the night after 9 pm). There was a nice continental plus breakfast in the unmanned check-in office in the morning. The computer was not processing payments at checkout, therefore they had to copy my credit card for future charging. Very disappointed, especially at the price point of $500 for a Saturday night.

The good thing about our stay was that it was safe and quiet. There was no one at the desk for check in or check out. Check in took around an hour at the property next door - the system was having an issue which I understand and we had time. But then we were given a room that didn’t have the balcony/mnt view that we booked. It didn’t have a plaque like the rest and actually the tv and bathroom fixture was broken… disappointing for sure. And no one to talk to about this when we left. Probably will book another hotel (not Kirkwood properties) when we visit again.

The property looks fine and is fine for a budget friendly option in Palm Springs. I booked this day of and the rate was good. I didn’t have high expectations. Upon arrival it was easy to check in. Staff was friendly. The room was fine. There is no soap or shampoo in the bathroom so make sure to bring your own as it was weird using hand soap to shower.

Received text the day of arrival saying the front desk would only be staffed until 11pm, we arrived at 6pm to a sign on the door to go check in on property around the corner - not a deal breaker but the front desk was never manned the entire duration, and I'm not seeing anywhere advising check in was at the property around the corner We were woken up at 1:30am and then again at around 7am new years day, it sounded like someone was throwing/dropping something heavy on the ground over and over again. Was originally going to write it off to an unruly guest and was going to let it go but it happened again the morning of departure.

I wanted to like this place but it missed the mark a bit. Very cool, designer architecture building. Room was big and shower was good. Reception was generally not staffed (need to go next door to their sister property) which led to a general feeling of not being a valued customer (there was a text system to get hold of someone and they were responsive). Cleaners woke us up every morning by shouting outside the door. The pillows were basically two sheets of paper. There was no where to get fresh water and the tap water was cloudy at least one of the days. The pool was good (and heated) and the little patio we had has a nice gas fire. So depends on what you're looking for but I wasn't impressed for the price.

Wonderful pool, but dilapidated hotel, horrible breakfast, no lotion provided, noisy music. Overall very disappointing for the high price
