Property is beautiful and we would stay again. There were a couple of things to take note of. At check in we were told we would be receiving breakfast baskets and would be texted the day before about delivery time. Unfortunately we were never contacted either day we stayed about this service. Another issue we encountered was during lunch. We ordered two tacos and when they came out they tasted a little off. When checking the food we discovered a clove. When we asked if this ingredient was supposed to be in the meal our waiter left to ask. After waiting over ten minutes for a response another staff member came back and we asked him the same question and he stated that was not supposed to be in our food. The previous waiter never came back. They were nice enough to discount the food but after that we decided not to eat on property.

This place is absolutely awesome overall, it isn't cheap but the size of the villas along with the fact some come with private patios and hottubs or outdoor bathrtubs makes it overall worth it. Now for the negatives, for a property as pricey as this one there were a lot of little things you'd think would be taken care of, there was some water damage to the trim on either side of the shower that was kinda unsightly, the hot water didn't work at all on one of the lav faucets, the sprayer for the kitchen sink didn't work at all and was unusable, some of the tableware was dirty still and the kitchen table was still sticky and looked like it hadn't been wiped down. Would I stay here again absolutely in a heartbeat..if they fixed some of these other issues it would be 5 stars no doubt.

Very nice people at front desk, wonderful room with kitchenette, close to all the action. Bed was super comfortable! Would definitely stay again.

Love coming to La Serena. This our third time. I feel like the staff was a little less friendly this last stay. The facility never disappoints. The restaurant was closed for a plumbing issue for the entire day and only limited beverages were available at the pool. For what you pay per evening, you would think they would have offered something to make up for the inconvenience. It was 105 each day we were there and stayed 3 days. Overall it is a great place to stay. Very intimate and clean facility.

Overall a great property and still beautiful despite the change of ownership. The service level has dropped though since the ownership change (not as crisp).
