Hotel is clean, staff is great.

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Columbia, SC from April 1st through the 3rd while traveling from Baltimore for a funeral. Although our trip was for a difficult occasion, the staff truly made our stay as smooth and comfortable as possible. Shortly after checking into our room, we experienced a power issue affecting half of the space. I reported it to the front desk and Akima and Decarlos responded immediately with a sense of urgency and care that was genuinely appreciated. An engineer was promptly sent to assess the situation, but what stood out even more was Akima’s proactive approach—she simultaneously arranged a new room for us to ensure we could get ready on time without any added stress. That level of attentiveness made all the difference. Additionally, Ned in the bar/kitchen area provided exceptional service throughout our stay. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, making us feel welcomed and at ease during a time we truly needed it. While the initial issue was unexpected, the way the team handled it was nothing short of outstanding. Their responsiveness, empathy and dedication to guest comfort turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a very positive one. We are truly grateful and would absolutely stay here again.

Upon both check in and check out, no one was anywhere to be found for 10+ minutes. It seems like the front desk staff take breaks and just disappear, leaving no one to man the desk. Staff was odd, not friendly, and it was just not a pleasant experience customer service wise. The hotel was pretty dated. Would not stay here again.
