Clean. Staff helpful. Cleaning and restaurant staff very kind. Front desk people looked unhappy with their jobs. Front desk person made me pay for two waters on last morning because I was not a member of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club. Perhaps DOGE had just done a visit?.

Exceeded Expectations!
I choose Hilton Garden Inns when I stay in cities because of the level of accommodations and service they offer at a reasonable price. This one has met my expectations. It's location offers almost unparalleled access to a lively neighborhood with many good restaurants and quirky shops and public transportation to the center of Chicago within an easy walk even in a cold and Windy City.

Welcoming, modern, and clean facility. Location is great! Downtown Evanston is wonderful. The next comment is on me since I didn't ask about softer beds. The firm mattress in the room wrecked havoc on my back - I need a soft mattress. Not sure if those are available but will ask next time before making a reservation. Other than that - top notch!
