Clean amongst their renovations. The afternoon host was very friendly and helpful.

They can't help this, but the hotel is adjacent to a run down motel and just makes the area very unappealing. It didn't help that there was a drunk guy sitting near the entrance. The entrance was ok and some of the ceiling tiles had stains on them from what appears to be previous leaks. The lighting was very dim and they had a snack bar right out in the open which I found odd. You usually see those behind a wall or in a room designated for that purpose. The hallways seemed very dated. Now the room. The room smelled like smoke. We found hairballs in our bed. Toenail clippings were under the desk. The shower was filthy and weren't cleaned well. There were no tissues in the room. The sink was clogged and barely drained. The curtains were hung backwards. We couldn't get out fast enough. However, I will say the desk manager was very nice.

Beautiful scenic views and impressive renovations. The rooms are clean, spacious, and feature adjustable climate control, fresh air circulation, and a smoke‑free environment. The added room security is a nice touch. Staff members are attentive and courteous. Breakfast is excellent, offering a wide variety of options in a large, well‑organized space. Parking is conveniently close to the building with plenty of room between spaces. This is a second stay at Hampton Inn, Covington, Va.

The power went out in my room and I need a refund.

Staff were great inspite of short staffed; facilities nice barring renovations going on now. Will stay again if opportunity arises.

We were in the area for one night and the location was perfect for us. We had our dog and it worked perfectly.
