The floors in our room were extremely nasty. The carpet was sticky due to the dirtiness. The bathroom had stuff on the walls that needs cleaned off near the toilet. There was an odor in the room that was not pleasant as well.

Friendly and prompt and professional staff

The hotel overall was great. Room 232 was lacking. The lights in the bathroom was malfunctioning, so once the light was on, it was left on because we couldn't get it to come back on if turned off. Shower had the obligatory shampoo and conditioner attached to the wall, but no body wash. No body wash is fine, but they also had no shelves to put the bar soap. I rested it on top of the sliding glass door frame, where others had also, based on the puddles of soap goo I found feeling for my soap. My 10 yesr old daughted just threw it on the floor- she couldn't reach that high. The toilet flush handle required an incredible amount of stength to flush, and once it got to flushing, it never stopped. The room itself was OK, but the layout was weird and made it difficult to watch TV. You had a bed on one side of the room, a couch on the other and a desk in the middle, below the TV. The staff was nice and did their best to deal with the issues, but there was not much they could do. Next time I'm in Auburn/Opelika, I'll try some place else.
