The staff was not very helpful. Only one member was helpful with restaurant recs and small talk, but when we left for the day and our room wasn’t cleaned, we had to wait an hour in the lobby to have that taken care of. We left in the morning and told the front desk our room was ready for cleaning. They told us they only do sheets and towels. For the exorbitant price tag for this 2 star hotel, I told them I needed a full cleaning. They agreed, but then didn’t do it until we got back to a room left just as it was that morning. We wanted to rest, but this hotel made it impossible. The breakfast was mid at best and the guests left every common area very dirty. Done with Hampton inn and big bear. Not worth the money.

When I arrived at the hotel at 6 PM, I was very disappointed to find that my room was not ready, even though check-in time was listed as 3 PM. To make matters worse, there were five other guests ahead of me also waiting for their rooms. This was extremely frustrating and left me with a poor first impression of your service.

The staff requested $50 for my family to check in 1 hour early, which was 2pm. We declined and returned an hour later for the initial 3pm check in time. Our room was not ready until later that evening due to a shortage of cleaning staff. Therefore my overall stay was shorter as a result of the housekeeping staffing issue. Not a great experience at all as far as customer service, the staff did nothing to remedy this inconvenience.

Staff were very welcoming with me and my family. It was our first time up in Big Bear, staff took the time to recommend places. Popular destinations and restaurants very close by. Hotel had snacks/ events very evening for family and kids.
