Although the hotel is 5 minutes away from Union Square by foot, we wouldn't consider the area to be great. It was a rather noisy neighborhood. However, the reception was clearly recently renovated, so the atmosphere inside was quite nice.
We stayed in a Drama room, which had a corner bed, but apart from that was small, with old windows which didn't open for ventilation and therefore suffered from condensation after every shower. The AC, while noisy, was capable of adequately heating the room. No restaurant or bar available at the property.

We were in town for a quick mid-week get away and to see a show. Staypineapple is a fun and quirky hotel near Union Square. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms are smallish but is you have stayed in SF, you know that this is pretty standard. Cookies were served in the afternoon, and it was a fun perk (and delicious.) No parking but garage next door was easy to use and at an expected rate. LOVED the individual duvet bedding or as the hotel calls Naked bedding. Our room was right by the elevator and it was not noisy. We were happy with our stay and would definitely stay again.
