Staff was really rude, not sure if it was because I looked younger but they constantly asked if was lost or needed something as if I was not a guest staying there. They also tried to charge my card again after I had already checked out and paid the full amount at check in.

Great hotel in a great location. We had a great view from our bedroom window overlooking the city and the empire state building. The pool on the 4th floor was a bonus. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful although there was one exception i.e. a member of the pool staff, who when we asked for iced coffee's she told us that none was available. When we told her that the previous staff had served us iced coffees in the previous four days she then admitted that these were available from a lower floor and she did not have time to go there. We then spoke to a male server who served us iced coffees without exception. Despite this we will be back.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Virgin Hotels New York City. After check-in, I waited an additional hour because I was told my room was being inspected. Unfortunately, the room had a strong mildew odor, stained linens and curtains, smudges on the furniture, toothpaste residue on the bathroom faucet, and even pubic hairs left in the sink. I was moved to another room on a different floor, only to find similar cleanliness issues, so I no longer felt comfortable staying. The lack of cleanliness extended beyond the rooms. The lobby carpet was visibly dirty and appeared to need vacuuming. I also dined at the third-floor restaurant and observed staff talking directly over guests’ drinks. When I requested a straw, the bartender handled the end that goes into the drink with his bare hands before placing it in my water, without seeing any handwashing beforehand which only added to my concerns about the property’s overall hygiene standards. Customer service was equally disappointing. The manager provided little communication or urgency. After waiting on hold for over an hour for an update, I had to go back to the lobby to get a response. Despite the hotel being unable to provide a clean room, I was only offered a 20% refund. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury property, the cleanliness, sanitation, and customer service fell well below expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel and hope management takes meaningful steps to improve.

balanced, and helpful to future guests: I had a wonderful stay at the Virgin Hotel New York City. I booked an Empire View room, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided incredible views of the Empire State Building, and the room itself was modern, clean, stylish, and very comfortable. The location is another major highlight. It’s centrally located, with most of New York City’s major attractions about a 10–20 minute walk or ride away, making it an excellent home base for exploring the city. The staff was consistently friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. I also appreciated that the hotel offers its own airport car service, which is a great option if you’d rather not deal with rideshare apps or finding transportation on your own. One thing I’d mention for travelers who aren’t familiar with New York City is that the immediate area can have some street activity and occasional riffraff, especially at night. However, that’s fairly common in parts of Manhattan, and as long as you’re aware of your surroundings and use common sense, I never felt unsafe. Overall, I had an excellent experience and would absolutely stay at Virgin Hotel New York City again. Between the beautiful rooms, amazing views, convenient location, and attentive staff, it made for a memorable visit.

Cool hotel for couples , singles , for quick stay in there just to sleep. Let's call it transient hotel. In and out just about that.

Had to move 3 times because they moved me into the wrong room x 2. For the price I paid It definitely needs an upgrade. Breakfast was good, staff was great, drinks also good.

Pool had to be reserved in the afternoons for a approx $50 per person charge with minimum food/drink orders. Even if you are ok spending the money, it is not ideal for a quick dip.
