A fenced off-leash dog park that consists of several large fenced lots for dogs to run. Surrounded by natural park grounds. Water fountains exist in each fenced area with water bowl, toys, balls, and benches. It's a great place to let your dog play and exercise, while humans mingle and meet.
Quick service restaurant that sometimes has fresh baked "doggie biscuits." Small "human" biscuits shaped like bones available at no charge for drive-thru customers who have their pets along for the ride.
Replacements Ltd. is an awesome megastore for china, crystal, and collectibles. They carry Christmas ornaments, figurines, antiques, and have some great bargains. If you love rummaging in antique stores and garage sales for cool finds and discontinued dinnerware, welcome to your Mecca. It doesn't sound like the kind of place that would invite tail-waggers, but employees are invited to bring their pets to work, and well-behaved pets are welcome (check out their site http://www.replacements.com/misc/pet2work.htm . There's an air-conditioned TV lounge for those who aren't into the shopping, and the grounds are large with lots of grass and trees for walks. It's on Interstate 40/85 near Greensboro, NC, exit 132.

Outdoor tasting room where you can bring your best buddy (on a leash) and sample Southern Appalachian brews, including pilsners, Belgian ambers and IPAs, and stouts. Also big huge pretzels! Yum. And live music. Can't beat that combo.

Venice Beach. My dog likes the water and the opportunity to play with other dogs. The beach is clean and please are freely to dogs of all sizes. The park enterance goes to the gulf of mexico beach. I have been told they are going to build in the area and eventually illiminate the ablity for the dogs to have a neat place to play.
