August is a great time to plan a trip in the US that includes not just your human family, but your pets as well. Summer events are at their peak, with lots of things taking place outdoors, which always makes it easier to bring your dog along to join in the fun.

Pet Events in the USA – August 2014
There are a lot of great family activities this August happening across the states. If you aren’t near any of the cities listed, check with your local humane society to see what events are happening near you. 2 day festival for pets and their owners to have fun and engage in the activities. Face-painting and other activities for children will be available. If you’re thinking it is time to adopt another furry buddy, don’t worry – local rescue groups will have adoption booths and there will also trainers who will answer any questions you have about your pet. You can also enter your dog in to the DockDogs Competition.
Paws in the Grove Doggie Dash and Pet Fair
Come to the 2nd annual doggie dash in Forest Grove. There will be over 30 vendors and demonstrations by the Deaf Dogs of Oregon. Come on down and watch the demonstrations, eat some great food, and listen to some live music. If you want to register to be part of the dash, you’ll receive a goodie bag, bandana, and number to wear as you cross the finish line of the 1 or 2 mile run/walk.
Dreamland Band Yappy Hour
Spend the evening with your best buddy listening to live music and hanging out in the park. There will be food, drinks, and fun to be had. Meet other dog lovers and unwind after work.
Get ready for a big mexican themed festival. The Cascade Beagle Rescue’s fundraiser is going to be even more fun than last year. Enter to win prizes, listen to great music, bring your pup and enter the contests for prizes! All proceeds go to help the rescue.
Sisters Doggie Dash
5k walk/run in Sisters will be a ton of fun with vendors, music, and food! Bring the whole family and meet other pet lovers, enter some of the contests, and go home “dog-tired.”
Take a historical walk through Chicago with your pup through Lincoln Park. Visit the gardens, learn about the pubs in your city, and hound-dog history tour.
