There are lots of great bird classes and events coming up soon, mainly in the South and the Midwest.

Parrot 101

Parrot University

This class will start at 6:30, and will cover some of the basic parrot information that owners should learn, especially new ones. You should reserve a spot by stopping by Parrot University, or by calling 704.889.2325 or emailing [email protected]

Rolling Meadows Bird Fair and Sale

This show will go on from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM, and costs $3 for ages 9 and up. It will hold all types of pet and breeder bird vendors, bird supply vendors, wild bird supplies, toys, accessories and more. Some of the birds they will have include Cockatiels, Canaries, Quaker Parrots, Conures and more. They will also sell some human apparel items, like t shirts and embroidered or specialized items. Everything will be discounted from retail price, so it’s a great place to stock up.

Clicker Training for Parrots

Grace Presbyterian Church

Springfield, Virginia

This is an introductory session on how to use Clicker Training with your parrot. It will tell you how it works, why it works, ways to start it and how to avoid common pitfalls. It will show you how to apply this form of training with your everyday interactions with your parrot. It will go on from 10:00 AM-12:00 noon. No previous experience is necessary.

Exotic Bird Fair and Sale

This show will take place from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. It costs $5, but is free for children under 10. Parking is free, and there will be door prizes. This show will hold an assortment of exotic birds, toys, cages, food and more.

Ohio Bird Fair

Columbus, Ohio

The Ohio Bird Fair has been occurring for over 10 years, serving the public with hand raised birds, feeds, cages and other supplies. This bird fair will go on from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM. It costs $3 for entry, but is free for children under 9.

Empower Your Parrot!

Asheville, North Carolina (location TBD)

This is a highly interactive class that will take place on Saturday morning, from 10:00 AM-12:00 noon that covers many aspects about how to effectively communicate with your parrot. The session will cover communication techniques, play fun games and show movies about how to improve your relationship with your bird.
