Thompson Hotels by Hyatt Pet Policies & Information

At Petswelcome, we’re always looking for hotels that don’t charge an arm and a leg for pet. There’s nothing more dispiriting than going on a vacation and feeling like you’re being bilked for taking your best friend with you. We’re also always looking for unique hotels, ones that set themselves apart from the rest of the group by offering something unique that inspires us just by spending time there. Luckily, we’ve found a hotel group that does both, Thompson Hotels by Hyatt, one that previously hadn’t been on our radar. Not only are they incredibly cool, artsy and luxurious, but the majority of them don’t charge a pet fee. Now, that’s our type of hotel.

Pet Policy

Of the sixteen properties currently open in the US (as of April 2024), thirteen Thompson Hotels do not charge a pet fee. The other ones charge a fee between $50 and $75 per stay. All of the hotels allow dogs only, with weight limits that vary from 25 lbs. to no weight limit.

About Thompson Hotels by Hyatt

More than just a place for you and your dog to stay, Thompson hotels foster a connection with the artistic cultures that flourish around their various locales. They have even located their properties with the goal of helping transform the neighborhoods with new opportunities for commerce and culture in unique ways that can be seen in such properties as Savannah’s Eastern Wharf and DC’s Navy Yard District. These hotels don’t simply reflect their surroundings, they become an organic part of the community.

Beyond their locations, Thompson Hotels takes special pride in their interior designs. They use world-renowned designers to create singular, cutting-edge interiors that are at once striking and luxurious yet comfortably inviting. They also take great pride in their culinary expertise, making their restaurants and bars, such as Daniel Boulud’s bistro at the Beekman hotel in New York City, an important part of the Thompson experience.

Founded in 2001, they opened their first hotel on Thompson Street in the Soho neighborhood of New York City, and are steadily expanding with a new location in Miami Beach opening soon. If you’re in the mood for a totally unique, luxurious and fulfilling experience, we highly suggest that you pack up your things (including, of course, your dog) and spend a night or two at a Thompson Hotel. You’ll both be glad you did.
