Atlanta, Georgia is the capital and most populated city of the state. It is the center of one of the largest, fastest-growing metropolitan centers of America. The city itself has about half a million people, but then the suburbs are forever sprawling, and are home to over 5 million inhabitants. The city itself is a huge transportation hub and business center for the rest of the South.
Since it’s a major location, there are many tourist facilities in Atlanta, many of which are dog-friendly.
Atlanta Preservation Center
There are seven different tours of the preservation center, and only two are not dog-friendly (Downtown and Fox Theater). Dogs must be leashed to go on the outdoor tours.
Centennial Olympic Park
This 21 acre park commemorates the 1996 Olympics that took place in Atlanta, and it attracts thousands of visitors every year. It has many nice trees and a large fountain where dogs can go cool off in the summer time. Dogs must be leashed to visit this park, but they are usually not allowed in any of the concerts that take place.
This is a popular brewery located in the Piedmont area, and they serve American style food and assorted beers. Dogs are allowed at the outdoor tables on the patio, and they provide water.
The Brewhhouse Cafe has a pub atmosphere that offers appetizers, sandwiches, soups, salads and other traditional pub food. They also have a selection of beers from all over the world. Leashed dogs can sit at the outdoor tables.
This is a midtown restaurant that offers dogs water and sometimes snacks when they sit at the outdoor tables. This establishment closes early, and is more of a casual breakfast and lunch spot that serves bagels, omelets, oatmeal, along with assorted alcohol and other beverages.

This is a kitschy alternative store, full of “wild, wacky and wonderful gifts.” It has all sorts of interesting stuff you would never discover at malls or at chain stores. Leashed, behaved dogs are allowed to venture in this shop with you.
Orvis Company Store
This store sells assorted sporting goods and accessories, as well as gifts and travel items. Leashed, behaved dogs can shop in the store with you.
