Aerolineas Argentinas’s Pet Policy

The rules for pets traveling vary upon the destination of the flight. All pets must travel in the hold except for assistance animals such as seeing-eye dogs. Proper documentation and paperwork need to be completed before departing and arriving at your destination. When booking your flight, indicate whether or not you plan to travel with your pet.

 

Transport Rules

The transport of a pet with its owner is regarded as extra luggage and subject to additional fees.
Pets must be at least 45 days old, and may not weigh more than nine kilos.
There is a maximum of one pet per person, and no more than four pets are permitted on the flight at any given time.

For internal flights within Argentina, you must have the following documentation:

    • Certificate of veterinary good health and anti-rabies issued no more than a week in advance of the flight
    • Corresponding certificates of vaccinations

For regional and international flights, you will have to get the information about the requisites of the country you are traveling to and have all documentation ready when checking in. Important Tip

For regional and international flights that depart from Ezeia, pets will only be allowed to travel out of the country when the passengers show the Permission for Boarding Live Animals certificate which is issued by the SE.NA.SA. Office at the airport. It is recommended that passengers arrive about 4 hours before departure at the SE.NA.SA. counters for inspection of the pet’s container, pet itself, and certificates.

Pets Traveling In The Hold

The pets who travel must have the following container:

        • Waterproof bottom
        • Secure latch to prevent pet from getting out of the container during travel
        • Proper ventilation and adequately sized for the pet to stand up, turn, and sit

Maximum Measurements For Carrying Containers:

        • Containing Bag: 48 cm in length, 30 cm wide and 25 cm high.
        • Rigid Container: 48 cm in length, 30 cm wide and 20 cm high.
