Ontario is one of the provinces of Canada and boasts having a vast array of family friendly getaways, outdoor adventures, and cultural experiences. If you’re thinking of vacationing in Ontario and want to bring your pup, there are several pet friendly hotels and bed and breakfasts that welcome pets. Ontario is big, so if you’re road tripping around and need several places, check out the ones we’ve found.
Remember to always call and double check the pet policies in case there are changes and when you book your reservation mention that you’re bring your canine buddy.
Post House Inn is located at 95 Johnson St in Niagara on the Lake in Ontario. They allow dogs who are under 15lbs to stay in the rooms on the first floor for an additional fee of $49 a night. Check with the inn to make sure they have space for the days you’ll be passing through. This inn was the first post office for the Town of Niagara on the Lake and was built in 1835. It is located near many wineries, restaurants, and near the Heritage District. Post House has an outdoor pool and hot tub as well as wifi and breakfast served daily.

Heading to Cobourg? Or just passing through? Willowmere located at 197 Water Street in Cobourg, Ontario, CA allows one dog per room with no additional fee. This bed and breakfast is an eclectic mix of antiques and art that gives it a unique style. It’s located on the edge of Lake Ontario and there are porches and patios to hang out on as you have your morning coffee and sit in the sun. Willowmere is about 15 minutes from downtown and near Victoria Park Beach. Take your pup for a long walk along the beach or head to Lucas Point Park for a day of fun.

Comfort Inns across Canada have pet friendly policies. The Comfort Inn located at 2171 Regent Street South in Sudbury allows up to 3 dogs of any size for no additional fee. It’s near Ramsey Lake Park and several beaches. You and your buddy can take a nice stroll in the mornings and evenings after a day of sight seeing. There are also 5 restaurants adjacent to the hotel and each room has wifi. When making a reservation check what they require you to bring for your pet and the policy regarding leaving your pet alone in the room.
