New and Diverse Pet-Friendly Lodging Listings

In the twenty-plus years since we founded petswelcome, we’ve always been amazed at the variety of pet-friendly lodgings that we get to list on the site. If anything, it has gotten more diverse, defined not only by allowing pets but by a wide range of policies, amenities, prices and locales that are as varied as the lodging industry overall. It used to be that pet friendliness was the exclusive realm of B&Bs, private vacation rentals and occasional hotels whose owners/managers were largely pet owners themselves. Eventually, thanks to the internet, where sites like petswelcome sprang up, it became possible to actually research in real time whether a particular place allowed pets. Once that became a reality, a niche market was created, one in which even large hotel chains realized that being pet friendly was not only an common-sense corporate policy, it made good business sense as well.

Every once and a while we like to focus on new sign-ups that highlight this diversity. Each of them appeals to different tastes, pocketbooks and interests and make it clear that you can now take your pet pretty much anywhere. Whether you’re a hardcore pet traveler or are considering it for the first time, we hope that these hotels, motels, cottages and rentals will confirm that you no longer need to make compromises when you take your favorite animal(s) with you.
